Shopping List – May 2014

It’s the last weekday of the month, so that means you get a double-dose of The Glamour Less with a second post – this time on my top shopping picks for the month of May.  For this shopping list, I looked for spring-to-summer transition pieces that could easily be dressed up or down, depending on the effect of the hot and humid weather on my motivation to get all dolled up.  Though a couple of my picks are over $100 full-price (i.e., the C. Wonder dress and the Marc Jacobs top), these pieces are frequently on sale for well-below their ticket price.  In fact, the MJ top is marked down right now to $92, but I’ve seen it go as low as $81 — and for any given C. Wonder sale, you’re likely to get at least 30% off full-priced styles.

Asos Shorts with Scallop Hem  //  C. Wonder Square Border Gauze Printed Sundress  //  LOFT Studded Cateye Sunglasses  //  Marc Jacobs Short Sleeve Houndstooth Sweater  //  Nine West Edelyn Clutch  //  GAP 1969 Destructed Sexy Boyfriend Jeans in White

With each of these picks, the pairing combinations are endless.  The C. Wonder dress can stand on its own, or be matched with a blazer for a more business casual look.  I would love to throw on the Asos shorts with a simple white tee and flat sandals to give off an easy-going summer vibe.  I might even try the Marc Jacobs top with the GAP jeans and heeled sandals to stay comfortable-chic on a cooler summer night.   And of course, both of the accessory picks can put the finishing touch on just about any outfit, especially the Nine West clutch which honestly can be your companion for anything from running errands to date night.
